Martin Harman is a ceramic artist from Bristol, UK. He came to Kaunas to work alongside his wife, Wen Hsi Harman.
Creating art is what it means to be human, to imagine and create something I have not seen before and bring it into the world to exist. As humans we have the potential to dream and turn ideas into reality. I want to explore human potential, I don’t like limiting myself as I have a brain and a soul, and a unique perspective on life, this should be maximised.
– This ceramic painting series was made to reveal the making process and quality of the bone china porcelain. With these works I wanted to bridge the gap between ceramic and painting. I was thinking about negative and positive space and trying to reveal this. I did this by revealing shapes combined with the white background of the clay.
