Brian Benfer is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Southern California. His work thematically deals with the concept of residue and its implication on the psyche while utilizing an array of material considerations and processes. Time is often a major contributor, physically positioning entities together while enabling them to evolve on their own terms. Informed heavily by Fluxus, Dada and the Happenings, his practice continues to navigate these concepts while fluctuating from a personal/experiential narrative to one based on the history of other people, places and events.
